Privacy
This page explains what happens to your information when you visit hourwiz.com or join the Hourwiz newsletter. The short version: we collect your email address only if you give it to us, we use it only to send the newsletter, and you can leave at any time.
Who we are
Hourwiz publishes videos and a weekly newsletter that explain how everyday things work and other curious questions. You can reach us at hello@hourwiz.com about anything on this page.
What we collect
- Your email address, when you type it into a signup form.
- Newsletter activity, such as when you subscribed and whether you opened an email or clicked a link. Our email provider records this automatically.
We do not ask for your name, and we do not buy or rent email lists.
How we use it
We use your email address to send the Hourwiz newsletter: a weekly roundup of our videos with their sources, and the occasional announcement about Hourwiz. Some issues may include a clearly labeled sponsor message. We never sell your address or share it with sponsors.
We send the newsletter because you asked for it. You can withdraw that consent at any time.
Who processes it
- Kit (ConvertKit) stores the subscriber list and sends the emails on our behalf. See Kit's privacy policy.
- Cloudflare hosts this website. Like any web host, it processes technical request data such as IP addresses to deliver pages and block abuse. See Cloudflare's privacy policy.
These providers may process data outside your country. They use standard safeguards for international transfers.
Cookies and tracking
This website sets no cookies, runs no analytics or advertising trackers, and loads no third-party scripts or fonts. If that ever changes, we will update this page first.
How long we keep it
We keep your email address while you are subscribed. When you unsubscribe, you stop receiving emails immediately. If you would like your record deleted entirely, email us and we will remove it.
Your choices
- Unsubscribe with the link at the bottom of every email.
- Ask for a copy, a correction or deletion of your data by emailing hello@hourwiz.com.
- You can also complain to your local data protection authority.
Changes
If we change how we handle your data, we will update this page and the date at the top.
